● Image Details
For the indoor applications, people are going to watch the display closer and closer. Ex, broadcasting studio and control room, every image tells the progress of activity. So image quality requirements are strict. Therefore, basically the LED display should not have the commonly seen 7 challenges.
For more details about 7 challenge, please watch the video below:
● Higher Color Depth for a Better HDR Performance
Except for the image details, a single glance takes in all in one image also needs full color depth. Also, it is critical to display HDR source.
We define an LED display that is HDR-Optimized as having the following qualities: 1. higher contrast ratio;2. more details at low grayscale; 3. higher color depth in the same color space. An HDR-Optimized LED driver IC should have a 16-bit grayscale output (PWM resolution) and a 4 KHz refresh rate. As of now, only Macroblock's MBI5359, MBI5850, MBI5264, and MBI5864 are able to achieve this with a 32 scan or above and up to a contrast ratio of 25,000:1.
Also, when an LED display is said to have the element of "Minimum Gray", it means that the display can render images with smooth and linear gradient grayscale when the brightness level is low. Driver ICs are the key components in an LED display as they are the deciding factor on whether the display's visual performance in terms of grayscale is superior.
● Low Power Consumption
Lots of the LED display applications run 24/7, which means the displays are still power without sending the image on even after the business hours in the shopping mall. Marcoblock provides Dynamic Power-Saving technic for customers saving the power up to 40% when the display id black, it is a very good function for a big area runs dark especially in control room.
Furthermore, Macroblock is introducing the "Dynamic+ Power-Saving" function that can be applied to more displays.
The "Dynamic+ Power-Saving" function can be activated even when the IC area does not have a full black screen. Even in low grayscale situations, part of the analog circuit can be switched off to achieve advanced power-saving performance. Compared to the original "Dynamic Power-Saving" function, the "Dynamic+ Power- Saving" is the next step in power-saving.
