● Time Multiplexing Architecture for Local Dimming Design
1. The local dimming architecture help to achieve high intensity
Traditional TFT-LCD structures are limited by their optical material's low transmittance (about 5%), so extremely high-intensity backlights are required to be of use in daytime. If the product's maximum intensity is 1,000 nits, the TFT-LCD backlight must generate 20,000 nits. Changing into mini-LED backlight displays avoids the problem of light source waste due to aperture rate.

2.  The local dimming architecture help to achieve high contrast
With traditional TFT-LCD structures, LCDs cannot be completely shut down. Also, the backlights are used the always on structure instead of the local dimming structure. This causes screen light leakage issues, which is why TFT-LCDs never succeeded in producing high-contrast display results. But this issue can be solved by the local dimming design undoubtedly.

3. Time multiplexing architecture
The driver ICs with time-multiplexing architecture can reduce the driver IC counts and simplify the PCB layout.
