Light Emitting Diode

  • A module made with SMD LED
  • A module made with LAMP
LED is the acronym for light emitting diode. Currently, LED displays are often manufactured using SMD or LAMP packaging techniques. Full spectrum SMD LED refers to the package containing red, green, and blue primary color LEDs in the same colloid. These are often used in indoor displays with smaller pixel pitch but have growing outdoor applications. LAMP LED displays are usually used outdoors, and have lower cost and higher protection against environmental hazards compared to SMD LED. However, as SMD packaging techniques improve, these advantages could be gradually replaced.
