Macroblock, a leading global manufacturer of LED driver ICs, participates in the DVN Munich Workshop that is held from February 4–5, 2026 in Munich Germany. The DVN Munich Workshop is an annual industry forum that brings together global automakers and Tier 1 suppliers in the automotive lighting industry.
Centered on the core theme “Shine Your Mind, Define Your Ride”, Macroblock presents its latest developments in LED color control technology and showcases a comprehensive portfolio of driver IC solutions for both interior and exterior automotive lighting applications. Through these demonstrations, Macroblock aims to illustrate to global automakers and Tier 1 suppliers how LED driver technology can support the evolution of automotive lighting from functional illumination toward “communication interfaces” and “emotional expressions”. Macroblock’s technical capabilities attracted strong interest from leading European and U.S. automotive manufacturers.

Presentation Recap: Overcoming RGB LED Physical Limitations to Restore Pure Automotive Colors.
During the session, Macroblock presented a talk titled “Macroblock’s LED Driver ICs Enable the Next Generation of Intelligent Signal Displays and Ambient Lighting,” which was well-received by the audience.
Addressing the increasingly stringent requirements for color accuracy in automotive ambient lighting and display applications, Macroblock highlighted a fundamental physical limitation of RGB LEDs during its presentation.
Through data visualization, the presentation demonstrated that RGB LEDs exhibit Wavelength Shift behavior and non-linear brightness behavior under varying current levels. This phenomenon frequently leads to noticeable Color Shift in color mixing applications.
In order to address this challenge, Macroblock presented a solution based on compensation technology embedded within its driver ICs. This technology effectively corrects color coordinate deviations caused by current variations, enabling automotive lighting systems to maintain stable and consistent color performance across different brightness levels.

Booth Highlight 1: The Multi-faceted Evolution of Exterior Interactive Displays—From Human-Machine Interaction (HMI) to Personalized Aesthetics.
Macroblock showcased two distinctly different applications that illustrate how front lighting is evolving from a traditional illumination tool into a communication interface and an aesthetic medium.

• Micro Display Lighting (exhibit provided by Liaowang): In collaboration with its partner Liaowang, Macroblock presented this high-resolution Micro Display Lighting powered by the driver IC, MBI5353Q. Designed around the core value of HMI, this solution uses high-resolution monochrome displays to translate complex driving intentions into intuitive and easily recognizable signals. Whether displaying texts or dynamic icons, messages are conveyed to surrounding road users with exceptional clarity and purity, significantly enhancing traffic communication efficiency and safety.
• Grille Light (Exhibit created by Macroblock): Also powered by the MBI5353Q driver IC, the Grille Light further expands the definition of automotive lighting. Beyond providing basic status indications—such as charging progress or safety alerts— this application emphasizes Personalized Vehicle Aesthetics and flexible body design. Through flexible design options, the front grille is transformed from a static air vent into a digital canvas capable of changing patterns in response to driver’s mood, the front grille is transformed from a static air vent into a digital canvas. This allows each vehicle to express a unique visual identity, truly embodying the design philosophy of “Shine Your Light.”

Booth Highlight 2: 45mA High-Current Drive—MBI6034Q Powers Both Ambient and Reading Light.
In the interior lighting zone, Macroblock showcases the versatility of its flagship driver IC, the MBI6034Q. Both ambient lighting and reading light applications – despite their very different functional requirements – are driven by the same MBI 6034Q driver IC primarily due to its 45mA high current output capability. This key specification allows it to effectively address a wide range of optical challenges:

• Immersive Ambient Lighting (Exhibit provided by Jing Wang): In order to support the”Hidden-til-lit aesthetic increasingly favored in modern vehicle interiors, the MBI6034Q’s 45mA high current drive effectively compensates for optical losses that occur when light passes through materials such as leather and fabric. This ensures that ambient lighting colors remain saturated and vivid even when concealed beneath dark interior trims. Furthermore, paired with 16-bit grayscale technology, the solution delivers smooth gradients at extremely low brightness levels and renders accurate brand-specific colors.
• High-Performance Reading Light (Exhibit created by Macroblock): Also benefiting from the 45mA high current drive, the MBI6034Q provides sufficient and stable brightness to meet the stringent functional requirements of reading lights. During on/off switching the 16-bit PWM control enables a premium and soft fade-in/fade-out effect, creating a smooth and welcoming lighting transition and eliminating the abrupt visual changes commonly associated with traditional reading lights.​
