Macroblock participated in Touch Taiwan 2022 held at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center from 4/27 to 4/29. The theme of the booth runs through "video game battle", which showcases the FALD mini-LED backlight technology, bringing game players a new visual experience that is different from the past.

In recent years, many gaming displays have adopted the FALD mini-LED backlight technology. As opposed to the traditional backlight technology, the "image-based" feature of the FALD mini-LED backlight can achieve high dynamic range (HDR) and local dimming functions. Gaming has always been a mid-to-high-end application in the LCD field. In addition to the requirement of high quality and high contrast images, Macroblock’s mini-LED backlight drivers also have a variable refresh rate (VRR) function to solve the problem of "flickering" and "uneven brightness" in the images, improving the image quality and enhancing the smoothness during frame changing. To put it simply, using a mini-LED backlit display to play games, even in a dimly lit scene, game players can clearly see the details of the scene as if they have their own headlights.

The mini-LED backlight displays demonstrated by Macroblock at the booth include the following:
1)    16-inch laptop: 2560 x 1600 resolution, VESA DisplayHDR™ 1000 certified, more than 500 local dimming zones, MBI6334 backlight driver IC used.
2)    27-inch screen: 3840 x 2160 resolution, 200,000:1 contrast ratio, over 500 local dimming zones, MBI6353 backlight driver IC used.
3)    75-inch TV: 3840 x 2160 resolution, 10,000,000:1 contrast ratio, over 2500 local dimming zones, MBI6329 backlight driver IC used.

Macroblock demonstrated various sizes of displays with mini-LED/VRR technology in this exhibition, and provided practical operation of video games, helping video game fans to be more immersed in the story of video games and have more fun.
