Uniformity

The quality of the entire image is related to the design and manufacturing of the display, and the performance of the driver IC. However, the most crucial factor is the uniformity of LEDs: this includes brightness uniformity and color uniformity. The difficulty of achieving uniformity comes from the manufacturing of LEDs and the difference in natural degradation of LEDs after usage, which can result in inconsistencies in brightness, viewing angles and other properties. These properties would be scattered across a range, and the better the manufacturing techniques, the smaller the range. Choosing LEDs with better uniformity can cost more. If the uniformity of the LEDs is low, it can easily result in a visual issue referred to as a “speckle pattern”.
