Jakarta AV Week 2019 begans on Wednesday, 9th of October and ends on Friday, 11 October, taking place at the Kasablanka Hall in Jakarta, Indonesia, organized by V2 Indonesia, Alcor MICE and Raja MICE. This event brings the latest information technology and the trend of LED displays, including LED displays, IoT, AI, VR. In fact, Jakarta AV Week is regarded as the first AV Integrated Technology Expo in Indonesia, with branded enterprises attending for exploring market intelligence and AV standards. It is believed that the event will get a great attention from the Indonesia market and the public can witness the latest technology.

MBI5253 resolves the 7 challenges of display: High Contrast Interference.
Recently, fine-pitch LED displays and drivers blew up the LED display industry. Macroblock keeps developing highly-integrated driver ICs and devoted to offering the improved visual performances on displays. MBI5253, an upgraded version of MBI5153, is a 16-channel multiplexing S-PWM LED display driver IC of the Hawkeye solution, which is available for 1.2 – 4mm pixel pitch LED displays. MBI5253 features all advantages of MBI5153 and improves the high contrast interference elimination on displays. The High Contrast Interference happens when a high brightness pattern displays low brightness patterns neighborhood or vice versa. The LEDs may not be properly lit at the high and low brightness patterns and affect the image quality of LED displays. Adopting MBI5253 will be an ideal solution to eliminate the high contrast interference and improve the quality of LED displays, which is suitable for applications such as fixed or rental displays.

MBI5359 and MBI5759 perfectly presents HDR-Optimized and Power-Saving Solution
Due to the raising trend of smaller pixel pitch and higher standard LED displays, Macroblock introduces 48-channel, highly-integrated driver IC – MBI5359 and MBI5759 for achieving better quality-performance. Both are regarded as premium LED display driver ICs aiming at smaller pixel pitch from 0.5mm to 1.5mm. As an ‘HDR-Optimized’ LED display driver IC of Macroblock, MBI5359 is not only equipped with Dynamic+ power-saving function, but also achieve full 32-scan multiplexing of LED display with true 16-bit grayscale output and 3840Hz refresh rate. In addition, Macroblock also showcases MBI5759, a 48-channel source type LED display driver IC under common cathode structure featuring 14-bit grayscale to deliver high-quality image performance, is rapidly responded to the huge market demands of achieving the high quality output with power-saving. MBI5759 equips Dynamic+ power-saving with the specific power supply system to reduce the power consumption efficiently as well as lower the temperature of a display surface.

Solutions of HDR-Optimized and power-saving are demonstrated at Macroblock’s booth so as to compare the quality of HDR and SDR video source, and the differences with grayscale, including MBI5359 with 14-bit grayscale mode(SDR), MBI5759 with 14-bit grayscale mode(SDR) and MBI5359 with 16-bit grayscale. For the HDR and SDR video source comparison, MBI5359 at 16-bit grayscale (HDR video source) has the best visual performance due to higher color depth and higher contrast ratio (25000:1).

In fact, the common cathode issues goes viral and how to efficiently lower the power consumption of displays becomes the focus in the industry.
