Macroblock Collaborates with ABSEN and LOPU to Demonstrate Diverse Applications of

     
     Macroblock attended LED China 2017 at Shanghai New International Expo Center during September 20th -22nd. This is the most important trade show for the LED display industry in China, and all LED display manufacturers show off the best products. In this battlefield, manufacturers have recently competed smaller pitch products with superior image quality.., and so on. However, focusing on users’ need to differentiate products is the key to winning in the competition.  Aiming at 24/7 operation applications, Macroblock develops LED driver IC, MBI5353 with a "smart power saving" function. The "smart power saving" function reduces power consumption in the black areas of displayed images and then decreases electricity consumption of LED displays.

     The control room is one of the major fine-pitch LED display applications. At Macroblock’s booth, we simulate the control room situation and display the Shanghai Metro Map on screens. One of the screens enables the "smart power saving" function and the other one does not. According to the power meter, we can realize that the screen with the "smart power saving" enabled can decrease power consumption by 20% (the reduction of power consumption is relative to displayed images.). Absen’s marketing manager says: "This is kind of booth extension model for the cooperation with Macroblock. Visitors can see the visual performance, cabinet structure, and also gain an understanding of the reliability of CR 1.5 from our booth. Then, they visit Macroblock’s booth to get further knowledge about driver IC MBI5353. Through this process, we can strengthen the recognition of Absen’s high-end products."

     Nowadays, fine-pitch displays are a part of consumers’ daily life. More and more shopping malls adopt  fine-pitch LED displays to show information. Boutique stores also use it to display advertisement and catwalk videos to create great desire to shop and a more enticing atmosphere. Theoretically, the display should be turned off as stores are closed; however, end users do not turn off their displays but change to a black image to decrease the risk of power failure. In this situation, MBI5353 is embedded with the "smart power saving" function bringing more value to customers. No matter whether the display enters a standby mode or displays advertisement with black areas, it can have a great impact on power consumption.

     Take LOPU’s P0.9 products for example, the first group screens simulate standby situation, as the one which enables the "smart power saving" function, it can reduce surface temperature by 5℃ and power consumption by 49%. The second group screens simulate displaying video (firework) situation, and along with the video content, reduction in power consumption ranges from 17% to 35%. LOPU General Manager, Zhu Bin mentioned "LOPU and Macroblock have worked closely together for many years. Through this cooperation, end users can know more about product specifications and the smart power saving function. It helps to convince users to adopt our products."
