There are possible various applications. Typical examples may be seen in the indoor and outdoor LED displays, LED message boards or LED moving signs for banks, stock markets, hospitals, clinics, railways, highways, airports, gyms,...etc.
With using the Macroblock's LED drivers, the design and manufacturing of LED displays become easy, lower cost, and reliable, since very few external components are needed. More importantly, the maintenance is easy and would not cost a lot.
1. Constant output current invariant to load voltage change( :<±0.1 %) 2. Excellent output current accuracy between channels: < ±3% (max.) between ICs: < ±6% (max.) 3. Output current adjusted through an external resistor 4. Fast response of output current 5. 25MHz clock frequency 6. Schmitt trigger input for noise immunity 3-5V supply voltage
Only one external resistor is required for LED driver to control the current of all output channels. Compared with the way of attaching one resistor to each pin, this way can ease the manufacturing process, simplify the process of preparing and purchasing materials and thus decrease the cost.
MBI LED Drivers process severe quality control tests. <MBI R&D => Wafer in TSMCT Assembly => Test and Verification => Reliability Test>
Product Reliability 1. High temp. operating life test (HTOLT) (125°C/6V/1000hrs) dynamic stress 2. High temp. bias life test (HTBLT) (125°C/6V/1000hrs) static stress 3. Low temp. operating life test (LTOLT) (-30°C/6V/1000hrs) Package Reliability 1. Pre-condition test (TCT/bake/seak/IR re-flow) 2. Pressure cooker test (PCT) (121°C/100%RH/168hrs) 3. Highly accelerated stress test (HAST) (130°C/85%RH/168hrs) 4. Temp. cycle test (TCT) (-65°C~150°C/1000cycles, 15min/cycle) 5. High temp. storage life test (150°C/1000hrs) Process Reliability 1. ESD test (human body mode/machine mode) (2KV/200V) 2. Latch-up test (I>100mA)
Considering the current-mode control characteristics of LEDs, Macroblock's 8-bit and 16-bit LED drivers provide customers with stable and uniform constant current. Through these drivers, LEDs are driven with the best performance and lifetime.
